Community Water Projects
Recognizing the urgent need for a sustainable solution, Essau Okello stepped in through the Essau Foundation and fully funded the drilling of a community borehole to supplement the existing water supply system. The borehole project was designed to increase access to clean and reliable water for households within the area and reduce the burden caused by water scarcity.
Today, the Ogongo community is experiencing significant improvement in access to water. Families now have a more reliable source for domestic use, sanitation, and other daily needs. The project has greatly reduced the time and distance residents previously spent searching for water, allowing many families to focus more on education, economic activities, and community development.
The project has particularly impacted women and children positively, as they are often the most affected during periods of water shortage. Access to clean water has also contributed to improved hygiene and healthier living conditions within the community.
Speaking during the project implementation, community members expressed gratitude for the intervention, describing it as a life-changing initiative that has restored hope and dignity among residents.
The Ogongo Community Water Project reflects the ongoing commitment of Essau Foundation towards improving livelihoods through sustainable water, sanitation, and community empowerment initiatives. The foundation remains dedicated to partnering with communities to provide practical solutions that create lasting social impact and improve the quality of life for vulnerable populations.
